Quick Tips (Video) - Installing Nori Lights On A Bike With Rim Brakes

Quick Tip - Installing the Nori Lights On A Bike That Uses a Rim Braking System

There are several solutions for installing the Nori Lights on a bike with rim brakes. In the video below, I illustrate how the brake pad can be adjusted to contact the rim a little higher or lower in most cases and open up enough side-rim surface for the Nori Lights Stripes.

Keep in mind, the stripes are only 6 mm (or 1/4 inch) wide. Often times, a brake pad is positioned to contact the center of the side-rim. Adjusting the pad up or down will usually give us the 6 mm we need for the stripes.

It is important to be sure that the stripes do not interfere with the braking system, as that would greatly reduce the braking performance if they are placed between the pads and the rim. Any time adjustments are going to be made to any component on your bike, especially the braking system, you should always have the work performed by a professional, or at the very least, consult with a professional that is able to inspect your bike and provide you with input and advice with your safety as the top priority.

If you have any questions about installing the Nori Lights on your bike, please email me at info@NoriLights.com, and if possible, include some photos of your bike, or your brake pads and where they contact the rim. An even better suggestion would be to take your bike into your local bike shop where they can see your bike in person, and ask the technician there for help and/or advice. They are usually very much willing to help and are very knowledgeable.
